Finding Your Purpose...
How do you find your purpose? You will also hear this referred to as your dharma. Why are you here? What should you do with your life? Well that all depends on you. I get asked this question more than any other. I think we put too much effort into trying to figure out what our purpose is. It’s really very simple but it requires you to be 100% completely honest with yourself. What do you like to do? What makes your heart fill with joy when you do it? If you could think of one thing you would like to do if money were no object, and you were free to do anything, what would that be? There is no separation from what you love to do and what your purpose is. They are one in the same. It will make work feel like pleasure. All the time. Now please don’t get confused, just because it’s your purpose, doesn’t mean it wont involve hard work. Your purpose doesn’t mean being lazy. It just means the work will be fulfilling to you. You will feel free. You will know when its your purpose. It will feel right. It will just “fit”. And it has nothing to do with income. The amount of money you make once you find your purpose has nothing to do with it being right. There are plenty of millionaires that are unhappy and feel like they should be doing something else. If you do what you love, the money will inevitably come. Bill Gates didn’t start tinkering with computers because he wanted to be a millionaire. It was just what he loved. Oprah didn’t become a reporter because she knew it would make her one of the richest women in history. It was what she loved and she knew she could contribute through the media. This is what you are looking for. Your purpose will usually involve a contribution in some way. Otherwise, why would it be a purpose? We were given purposes to help each other while we are in a physical form. They also fill our checklist of lessons we are trying to learn in the spiritual form. One of the lessons I needed to learn, which was very difficult to me, was to stop ignoring my purpose. I would always lose jobs. Good jobs, too! I have never been at the same place of employment for longer than two years. It was never meant for me to be there. The universe had bigger plans for me. Once I realized this and started teaching, the info came very easy to me. There is a lot of time consuming, hard work in what I do, but I love it. I love that I have been given a gift of not only knowing the things I know, but to be able to share it brings me joy like nothing else I have ever done in my life. I absolutely love it an will never stop doing it. Now that’s a purpose! When you find your purpose, please let me know what it is, I love hearing these stories of life transformations. And finding your purpose is a huge first step in starting that transformation.
