Resolution vs. Intention

Happy New Year! As a tradition we all often start a resolution list for the new year. How we want to change, the things we promise to start or stop doing. The list we hold ourselves to that promises perfection. The problem is we are already perfect exactly the way we are, and failure to see that and accept it leads to imaginary failure and self defeat and these lists usually only last a month or so. We do so great when we come racing out of the gates on January 1, only to realize we have an image in our heads of someone else we could never be and is not who we really are. Truth is we need to be ready for these changes in order to be successful at them, and the start of a new year is simply not a good enough reason. So, instead of a resolution this year, why not create an INTENTION list? Write down the things you intend to have or want...realistically? The more you write them and think about them the more chance you have at manifesting them.Accept yourself the way you are and work at changing things one at at time. Know that the way you are now is perfect. When you create a resolution list, you are constantly thinking about one thing...failure.Right? You are never thinking about accomplishing your goals...you are thinking about NOT FAILING at your goals. Big difference. You are constantly thinking about failure. So in truth, you are manifesting failure with your intentions, anyway. What you think about, you bring about. Remember the law of attraction? So since you will be manifesting and intending anyway, why not do it the more positive, more productive way?Start be writing down positive affirmations about yourself. Create a list of 5 things you really like about YOU.Accept yourself the way you are with these affirmations and really read them aloud to yourself over and over. Close your eyes and really feel how good these things are about you. Now write one thing you would like to change, but realize it is also a loving part of you as well. Then write a specific way you would like to go about changing this one thing. Create a clear cut plan of what you will do different that will get you one step closer to your goal. Most people continue to do the same things over and over out of habit, so change your routine. Go to a different store, make new friends, join new groups, etc. You will be surprised how easily new routines can be created. Always remember no matter what, everything is always perfect and always unfolds as it should. Whatever is meant to be will always find it's way. I love you! Happy 2011!

Selfishness....to be or not to be?

Are you selfish? Do you spend the majority of your time doing for everyone BUT yourself? Why? Guilt? Because you don't do it without complaining do you? Think about it. You do it, but while you're doing it for the kids, for the spouse, for work, for friends, you are complaining about it. You're not happy about it. But if you don't, you are filled with guilt. Ever stop and think about why? Could it be that you have been conditioned into believing it's selfish not to be this way? It's selfish to think of yourself first right? You can't say no. It's selfish. I know, trust me, as a single mother most of my children's lives, it's difficult to put yourself first. And yet all the people that you are breaking your back for, are thinking of themselves first, and, are for sure not doing the same for you. So why is it so hard for you? I want to help you realize that the most UNSELFISH thing you can do is think of yourself first. To put yourself before before anyone else allows you to love YOU. It affords you the ability to be your best. In fact, it is completely selfish to NOT think about yourself first. You are depriving people of all of you. You can't completely be you if you are not happy. Think how much better you would be if you did things you really wanted to do. What if you made time for you?You would be a happier person for all who love you. For your kids. You would be more productive at work. You would be healthier due to a lower stress level. You have nothing to offer anyone when you are miserable and unhappy. You can't give your all to anyone when you are not whole. You lose who you are because you are too busy doing things for everyone else. How could you possibly have a clue who YOU are anymore? All driven by guilt. Did you know guilt isn't even a real emotion? Ego based and made, and no one can make you feel this way except your ego driven consciousness. You feel guilt when you feel like you are not living up to someones else's expectations of what you should be. Well, who decides that? Who makes those guidelines? YOU DO! And the only person you have to impress is you. You are never responsible for anyone else's opinion of you. You are only responsible for you. Drop the guilt. Give yourself permission to to be all you can be for your family, and most of all, for you by being SELFISH!

Finding Your Purpose...

How do you find your purpose? You will also hear this referred to as your dharma. Why are you here? What should you do with your life? Well that all depends on you. I get asked this question more than any other. I think we put too much effort into trying to figure out what our purpose is. It’s really very simple but it requires you to be 100% completely honest with yourself. What do you like to do? What makes your heart fill with joy when you do it? If you could think of one thing you would like to do if money were no object, and you were free to do anything, what would that be? There is no separation from what you love to do and what your purpose is. They are one in the same. It will make work feel like pleasure. All the time. Now please don’t get confused, just because it’s your purpose, doesn’t mean it wont involve hard work. Your purpose doesn’t mean being lazy. It just means the work will be fulfilling to you. You will feel free. You will know when its your purpose. It will feel right. It will just “fit”. And it has nothing to do with income. The amount of money you make once you find your purpose has nothing to do with it being right. There are plenty of millionaires that are unhappy and feel like they should be doing something else. If you do what you love, the money will inevitably come. Bill Gates didn’t start tinkering with computers because he wanted to be a millionaire. It was just what he loved. Oprah didn’t become a reporter because she knew it would make her one of the richest women in history. It was what she loved and she knew she could contribute through the media. This is what you are looking for. Your purpose will usually involve a contribution in some way. Otherwise, why would it be a purpose? We were given purposes to help each other while we are in a physical form. They also fill our checklist of lessons we are trying to learn in the spiritual form. One of the lessons I needed to learn, which was very difficult to me, was to stop ignoring my purpose. I would always lose jobs. Good jobs, too! I have never been at the same place of employment for longer than two years. It was never meant for me to be there. The universe had bigger plans for me. Once I realized this and started teaching, the info came very easy to me. There is a lot of time consuming, hard work in what I do, but I love it. I love that I have been given a gift of not only knowing the things I know, but to be able to share it brings me joy like nothing else I have ever done in my life. I absolutely love it an will never stop doing it. Now that’s a purpose! When you find your purpose, please let me know what it is, I love hearing these stories of life transformations. And finding your purpose is a huge first step in starting that transformation.

Power of Meditation

Connecting with source requires great depths. Depths of this magnitude can only be reached with meditation.Meditation is a quieting of the mind. A place where you can SEE your thoughts. It is very easy to do and not quite as complex as it can appear to be.Yes, there are tools you can use to broaden and expand your meditation experience such as mudras and sutras, but for beginners they are not necessary.Did you know that when your eyes close, you automatically enter the Alpha phase of consciousness? This is described as a condition of restful alertness without cognitive activity. Think of meditation as being on "idle" mode. You are idling and recharging the mind and soul. This is why meditation is recommended to be done first thing in the morning before you start your day and again late afternoon to get you through until bedtime. The same way you would take a "cat nap" to revitalize yourself. So many things can be accomplished during meditation. This is a great time to talk to or meet your guide(s). If you have yet to meet them, I suggest you do so sooner than later. Your guides choose to be with you in this lifetime for a reason. They are a great source of information and can help you immensely achieve and accomplish all you desire, but only if asked. They are not allowed to get involved with your life unless invited. When you have transcended, ask for their name(s). You may hear it, or you may see a picture or have it spelled out for you. Ask them for anything you would like their help on or manifesting. They love to help! Meditation is also when some of the best ideas will come to you. There are so many different aspects of meditating, but for now let's stick with the basics.
So sit or lay down somewhere comfortable where it is quiet and you won't be disturbed. Close your eyes. Take some deep breaths. Imagine your stomach is a balloon and you are trying to fill this balloon as full as possible. You will notice mindless chatter going on in your head. This is your ego talking. It has to always be heard, so expect it to be fighting you on this whole meditating thing. Ask it to be quiet. Explain to your ego that this is something new you will be trying and this is the time for it to be quiet. If it has something so important to tell you, it can wait until after you are done. The ego will still try to talk so make sure you cut it off immediately with a simple "not now"or a "shhh". It will eventually catch on after a few times that you aren't giving up on this and it will jump on board and know that when you start meditating, this is quiet time. Now, imagine a bright, warm light coming down from the sky. A stream of light so full of love and pureness coming down and going right into the top of your head. This is your crown chakra and is the doorway to source, universe,or God.Whatever name you like. Imagine this light traveling into your head and down your entire body. Go slowly and name each part as it travels down. Head, face, throat, chest, right arm, left arm...etc. As you are naming each part...think about how warm it feels and how good it feels. Just the intention alone of feeling the warmth in those areas, will actually warm those parts. Once you have gotten all the way down to the toes, imagine the light going out of your toes and forming a huge bubble all the way around you. Now you have this light flowing through you and you are floating in it. Keep breathing. Now just let your thoughts flow to you. Any thoughts you may have. You can also try to meet your guide(s) or ask for anything you may be wishing to manifest. You can also ask for an answer to anything. Ask for anything. Also be very grateful for everything you have and say thank you. Remember you are connecting with your source. The source from where you originated from. You are phoning home, where any and everything is possible. Where all the answers are. When you are ready, you can open your eyes and come out of the meditation. I think you will be surprised to see you have been in meditation for probably 15-20 minutes. This is all that is needed 2 times per day. You will be amazed how much more patient and joyful you become. Things will come to you easier and you will begin to start to see a difference in the way you view things. You will develop an understanding for the world by consistently connecting with source. You will start understanding who you are are,why you are here, and where you came from.Nothing can be accomplished in your life until you understand those three things. Nothing. Please remember even when you feel you don't have time to meditate, some is better than none. If you only have a minute or two, fine. Just don't make a habit of it. You may not notice a huge difference right from the start but you will sure notice a difference if you stop meditating.Once you get in a habit of meditating, it won't take you but a couple of seconds to be transcended. It literally becomes that easy. You will be able to do it anywhere, at anytime. You will always be aware of what is going on around you, but will have the control to tune it out and not let it interfere with your meditating.Don't get discouraged. It can seem frustrating when you start, but every time you do it, just the quieting of the ego, will begin to shrink it. It will become easier and easier. It is essential to meditate for anything you do in your life. You WILL notice a difference and be so happy you have mastered the art of meditation. Happy meditating!

Step 3...Believe

Okay. So you asked, you are believing, and now you are ready to receive. Right? Yes! Okay, so how do you prepare to receive? How do you get ready to receive your harvest of goods? Well, it depends on what your goals are. What are they? Do you want a soul mate? Look at your home. Do you have room for one? Is your closet packed to the gills with"stuff"? Is the bathroom counter cluttered with your toiletries? Do you sleep across the entire bed? Do a walk through. Act as if someone is moving in to spend the rest of their life with you tomorrow. What would you do to prepare? Well, typically you would make room in the closet by giving them one side of it. Move your toiletries to one side of the sink. Start sleeping on one side of the bed .Even putting pillows on the other side. Start parking on one side of the garage or driveway.Maybe even setting an extra plate at dinner. No, you don't have to serve dinner on the plate!( Unless you want to). Be creative. You're not crazy! You're the artist of your life and you're prepping the canvass! You're showing the universe you are expecting someone to come into your life, and you're ready. You cannot have new in your life, if you are overloaded with old. What about your increased revenue for your business? Are you making room for the extra time you will be needed for the new business you will have? Start creating a mock schedule of creating more time for that. What can you move around, cut out, or add to in order to achieve this. It's not always about making more time, it's about being more efficient. And until the extra business really does come, you can fill the extra time doing things to increase clients and revenue that you have really been putting off. Get up a half an hour earlier. Yes, you can! Hire a maid. Have the neighborhood kids do the yard work. I know. I hear you saying, Renee, I can't afford that! Well, you can't afford not to! Break down your annual salary to an hourly pay and think about how many hours you lose doing these chores every day, every month. Subtract that from your annual salary. Then think what it would cost you to hire a maid. I guarantee you, it will knock your socks off how much money you're losing by NOT doing it..We've all heard time is money. Well it really is. Leave it to the experts to do their work. You are an expertise in YOUR work. Spend your time there. Is your goal new toys? Get rid of the old! As stated earlier, how can you get new if you still have old? There's no room, and the universe is saying" Where the heck are they going to put all of this stuff?" If you haven't worn something in your closet in one year, toss it on over to a charity. They need it, you don't. You're making room, remember? Go through your boxes in the garage. If you have been thinking one day you will have a use for it, and it's been over a year, get rid of it. Believe it or not, this act of clearing is so freeing. You are removing attachments. They do not serve you. When you die, it's not going with you. It's going to be someone else's then. It's just stuff. It's okay to have stuff, just remove the attachment to it.Wayne Dyer says" I keep a suit I want to be buried in with holes cut in the pockets to remind me I won't be needing them where I am going". You have a new life to get ready for, so let it go. Continue to do your visualizations, especially at night right before bed. They are your last thoughts of the day and this gives the subconsciousness the opportunity to process these thoughts while you are sleeping. It's not a coincidence that you sometimes dream about what you were thinking about right before you went to sleep. This is the perfect opportunity for manifestations to grow. Journal your wants and desires stating that you are so happy and joyous and grateful(you can pick all kinds of different words) that you already have them. Remember to never ever give up! This takes time and action will be required. But when you are on the right path and you are doing what you truly love, it won't feel like work because you will love it!That's the fun part. You get to experience all of your dreams manifesting and unfolding into fruition. Most people expect that miracle corn stalk to pop right up as soon as they plant their seeds, but the reality is it need tending to. This is the time to tend your garden. Your roots are strong. Your soil is fresh. Keep watering and don't quit. 90% of people who fail, quit right before success. The sprout was right under that soil. Look for the signs. You will start manifesting small things immediately, and as long as you stay with it, and the roots grow stronger and stronger, and that sprout will pass the surface of the ground. It will then start growing like crazy. The flood gates will be open and you will be in the flow and manifesting like crazy! You now just need all the tools to tend your garden. You have a few. Journaling, visualizations. There are so many others. Next very important tool and next blog.....meditations.

Step 2....Believe

Faith is taking the first step even when you can't see the whole staircase.
~Martin Luther King

So you've made a list of the things you really, really want, right? Awesome! Now it's time to believe that you already have them. Truth is, you don't have them yet, so this takes tremendous faith and...imagination.Where "The Secret" led you to believe your desires were obtained by stating "I wish I had it", we will offer a more effective approach. When you say to the universe, I want this in 30 days, you give the feeling of not yet having it or needing it until the future. So, the universe obeys, and gives it to you...in the future! Whereas, stating your gratitude for it now, projects the affirmation you already have it. And the universe must follow suit. It's the law.So, a statement such as "I want my business to double in size in 6 months", becomes"I am so grateful and joyous now that I am enjoying my income from my increased revenue". This tells the universe you already have it. You see, the brain doesn't differentiate whether you have it or not. In quantum physic studies, there was an experiment conducted with track and field athletes. The athletes ran a distance on the track, and their brain activity waves were recorded. Then, the same athletes were told to lie down and close their eyes and run the same distance, only this time in their mind. The brain waves were the same. How could this be? The brain has no knowledge this didn't really PHYSICALLY happen. Just by thinking it happened, the brain was convinced it really did. This is the power of thought. So what happens when you already believe you have a thriving business, or the prosperity you want, or the loving relationship? You believe you already have it, you journal daily the gratitude for already having it, and poof! It manifests itself. Now, please don't confuse with already believing you have it, with setting goals. You still could set goals for yourself to keep yourself on track and organized. Remember the required imagination part? Well, this is where more will come in. You know your goal is in 30 days, but you must believe and train your brain to believe you have it NOW. Close your eyes. Believe with everything you have in you that you have it already.Feel the feelings of having it.See yourself holding your bank statement with the increased amount. Feel yourself holding someone you have so much love for and they have the same love for you. Feel how ultimately and completely happy you are with your desires being met to the point where you have tears in your eyes.Overwhelm yourself with the wonderful, joyous feelings. The universe will respond. What is the mistake most make? Giving up before it happens! You are planting universal seeds. A farmer doesn't dig a hole, drop a seed in, cover it with soil, and voila!, a fully grown corn stalk ready to be picked and eaten before he can even turn around. No! It takes watering, fertilization, tending to, and time to grow. The roots have to grow and get firm before a sprout can ever be strong enough to break soil. The watering and tending is what gives you the time  you need  to get ready for your harvest. And that leads us to step 3 and the next blog....receive.
